THOMAS, Jerome E. "Jerry" 55, of Ft. Lauderdale, formerly of Springfield, died unexpectedly December 14, 2011 in his residence. He was born August 20, 1956 in Springfield, OH to William E and Joann (Leary) Thomas, Sr. Survivors in addition to his mother, Joann Thomas, include a son, Jerome E. (Maegan) Thomas Jr.; a daughter, Erica; five sisters, Carol (Dan) Navin, Susan (Ed) Wynn, Jean (Bob) Mitch, Ann (David) Markey and Patty Komar; two brothers, Bill Thomas and Richard (Ruth) Thomas; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and his brothers Jim and Bob. Services will be at the convenience of the family. Local arrangements by CONROY FUNERAL HOME.

Jerry Thomas was one of my best friends. I will always remember all of the good times that we had together growing up. I was fortunate enough to have seen him in 2008 when he came back home for a visit. He was a good father to his two children. He will be greatly missed.
